Setting Up Sub-Domains

In this article, I’ll show you how to set up subdomains.

It’s an easy three-step process and is a great way to take a newly-created funnel live. To get started, let’s click Settings on the left, and then Domains in the new left menu that appears.

Next, click Add New Domain in the top right.

In the popup, we’ll need to specify the name – we’re going to use promo.whitelabelguides.com. Because this is a subdomain, we don’t need an “A” record, but we’ll need to add a CNAME record.

Don’t click Add yet – let’s first select and copy the URL in red and then switch over to our registrar.

We’re using GoDaddy, but most registrars will have a very similar format for adding records. Navigate to your registrar’s DNS Management page for the domain.

Click Add, and then select CNAME from the dropdown.

In the Host field, you’ll add whatever appears before the dot in your subdomain. For our example, we’ll enter “promo.”

Next, we’ll paste the URL from our platform in the “Points To” field. Lastly, we’ll reduce the time on the TTL dropdown for our record to propagate faster.

Finally, click Save.

Now, you can switch back to your platform and click Add.

This may fail the first few times until the CNAME has propagated. Once it does, you’ll get a success message after clicking Add to show that our subdomain has been added.

Next, let’s select a previously-created funnel from the dropdown and click Link Domain.

Now, when we go to the selected funnel on our platform under Sites, we can see that it has a URL on our new subdomain.

If you want to change the URL slug, simply click the publishing tab and edit the step path field.

When you test the URL, it may fail the first time as it builds the SSL certificate. Hit refresh and you can see that your new subdomain is live and ready to go!
